Special Districts
Nina supports the consolidation of “special taxing districts” which only serve to drive up taxes. They are patronage mills for the Republican Party, and their boards are occupied by local Republican officials, leaders and donors. It’s time to break up the “Old Boys’ Club” and remove these unnecessary extra layers of government. Nina is dedicated to merging these districts because taxpayers have had to pay more of their hard-earned money for too long for the Republican Machine of Nassau County to reward their loyal followers with comfortable commissionership or counsel positions. Nina is focused on the people of Nassau County who work hard every day to make ends meet. She is focused on people who may have no job. She is focused on creating Nassau County a place where high taxes are not what drive people away from such a notable county. |
